About Bilbo Transports

More than 100 years in transportation

Bilbo Transports, Inc. has been in the transportation business since 1915 — from a Dallas jitney line to an interstate flatbed carrier headquartered in Irving, Texas.

Our beginning — 1915

The Bilbo family entered transportation in Dallas in 1915 with the Bilbo Jitney Line, carrying passengers through a city that was growing faster than its streets. It was a transportation business from the first day, and it has been one ever since.

From people to freight

As the automobile changed how Texans moved themselves, the family moved into moving goods. Passenger service gave way to commercial hauling — freight, building materials and construction equipment for a state under construction.

Building Texas

Bilbo trucks carried brick and building materials used in structures across Dallas and Fort Worth. The company's history is tied to the physical growth of North Texas: the walls, frames and foundations that are still standing.

Generations of transportation

Transportation knowledge was handed down across generations of the Bilbo family, along with the customer relationships and freight judgment that only come from decades in the same business.

Bilbo today

Bilbo Transports, Inc. operates from Irving, Texas as an active interstate for-hire property carrier. The company runs flatbed and open-deck freight — steel, lumber, building products, and construction freight.

Values

How we operate

  • Reliability

A load promised is a load covered. Everything else in this business depends on that.

  • Relationships

Long customer and contractor relationships are the reason a 1915 company is still here.

  • Safety

Open-deck freight demands discipline every mile, from securement to following distance.

  • Professionalism

Our drivers represent your company at the mill, the yard and the job site.

  • Long-term thinking

We make decisions that let us keep hauling for the next generation, not just this quarter.
